    What operating systems do your tools manage?

    RPM and ERPM can manage and discover accounts on the following Windows platforms:
    • Windows NT 4 All Editions
    • Windows 2000 All Editions
    • Windows XP Professional
    • Windows Server 2003 All Editions
    • Windows Vista Business
    • Windows Vista Ultimate
    • Windows Server 2008 All Editions
    • Windows Server 2008 R2 All Editions
    • Windows Server 2012 All Editions


    Quick answer: any Windows NT based operating system from Windows NT4 through Windows Server 2012 including x64 versions.

    RPM and ERPM can also manage and discover accounts on these these non-Windows operating systems:
    • Linux
    • Unix
    • Solaris
    • HPUX
    • AIX
    • VMWare ESX server
    • OSX
    • Other Linux/UNIX Variants
    • Mainframe

    • Anything providing a remote SSH or Telnet interface


    Quick answer: any Linux or UNIX variant that allows an SSH or Telnet session.

    Extended answer: any Linux or UNIX variant that allows an SSH session, though customization of our tool may be required to support their particular installation if they have customized the logon or password change process from the default installation. This customization is provided at no extra cost.

    Quick answer: any Windows NT based operating system from Windows 2003 through Server 2012 including x64 versions.

    * For Enterprise Random Password Manager and Random Password Manager, Windows 2003 is no longer a supported hosting platform beginning with version 4.83.5. ERPM/RPM are now only supported on the 64bit edition of Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2012. User Manager Pro, Service Account Manager, Task Scheduler Pro, COM+ Manager, Server to Server Password Synchronizer and Account Reset Console are still supported on Windows Server 2003.

    Can your products run from a virtual system? YES

    Do I just need to license the virtual server or all of the virtual systems? All of the virtual systems.

    For clustered systems, do I need to license the individual systems, or can I just license the cluster? You must license the individual systems.

    What web servers do your web products require?
    • IIS 6 with support for Active Server Pages enabled (excluding ERPM and RPM)
    • IIS 7.x With support for Active Server Pages enabled and possibly ASP.NET
    • IIS 8.x With support for Active Server Pages enabled and possibly ASP.NET


    Do your products require a database to work?

    The following products require a database to work:
    • User Manager Pro (Reporting, scheduled reports, web reporting, PRC uses its own access database)

    The following products recommend a database:

    What databases will your products work with?
    • MS SQL Express (Free from Microsoft) - not supported for production environments

    What ports do your products require?
    • 7 – if using Wake On Lan (WOL)
    • 25 – SMTP for email alerts (optional)
    • 135 – scheduled tasks in UMP and TSP; WMI in UMP reporting; automated web install for RPM, ERPM
    • 137*

    • 80 – HTTP if SSL not enabled for web products
    • 443 – HTTPS if SSL is enabled for web products
    • Other – HTTP/HTTPS configurable ports if not using defaults of 80 or 443

    Do your products require agents? NO

    Will your products function if NetBIOS is disabled? Yes. NetBIOS is not a requirement as SMB can provide the required alternatives and your system will default to SMB if NetBIOS is unavailable.

    Can you manage machines not in my domain such as an un-trusted domain or workgroup systems? Yes. This will require the use of pass-thru accounts or configuration of “alternate administrators”, though anything requiring the use of DCOM such as scheduled tasks and WMI will not be able to function with “alternate administrators”.
