How can I remove decommissioned systems from the database. I inherited a Random Password Manager installation that has a couple of dozen "dead" systems still displayed.
thanks,
Your decommissioned systems can be removed either manually or automated through the use of the dynamic groups functionality in Random Password Manager.
To remove them manually, you may select the machines in question, right-click, select Add/Remove Systems | Remove Systems from List.
Please note that all machine groups in Random Password Manager are, by default, dynamic in nature. Dynamic groups allow you to automate the process of adding and\or removing machines from groups. Group membership is based on a set of conditional parameters you specify to the tool. To adjust the group membership, within the machine group, select the SystemsList drop down list | Edit Current System Set Properties. This will expose the parameters (tabs) that are adding and removing machines within your groups. The Options tab will allow you to select System Removal as an option. The second checkbox "Remove systems which do not appear to exist any more" will remove decommissioned machines or any machines which can no longer be contacted. You may wait for the next scheduled group membership update or update immediately by selecting SystemsList | Update Current Systems Set Now.
