Difference between Dynamic Group Update and Edit Group Properties?

Is there a difference between editing a Dynamic Group Update job for a System Set and doing an Edit Group Properties on a System Set? In both I see where you can set up a schedule and both have methods to add systems. Are they independent of each other or does one override the other?

Sorry, our primary for RPM just went out on medical leave and I'm scrambling to get up to speed!

Difference between Dynamic Group Update and Edit Group Properties?

Both will edit the same job. Whichever option you chose last will be the latest edits to the Dynamic Group membership parameters job. It's really a matter of choice. Both have their advantages. If you select Edit Group Properties, you are offered a tab view of options for editing the parameters associated with the System Set membership but the scheduling options are not as granular. Edit Group Properties does offer more options such as custom LDAP queries for System Set membership. Editing the Dynamic Group update job will give you more granular options for scheduling the job runs.

You may wish to contact your Sales Representative about training options available to you as you become more familiar with RPM.
