Problem:

When attempting to install the ERPM or RPM web application onto a heavily secured system and subsequently launching the website, the following error may be observed int he client browser:

Cause:

In accordance with Due to the application of the IIS 7 Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) required by the DoD, Group ID (Vulid) V-13700 recommends unregistering scrrun.dll in order to disable the File System Object component.

Resolution:

Re-register scrrun.dll using the command regsvr32 scrrun.dll from an administrative command prompt.

DoD Supplemental:

It is OK per the STIG to leave this object registered if the site is running an application (like ERPM or RPM) that requires it and the Information Assurance (IA) Manager or IA Officer has approved this change in writing.
