Error When Opening Event Sink Dialog
Error When Opening Event Sink Dialog
Date: November 18, 2011
Revision: 2.0
Problem
When opening the event sink dialog, Enterprise Random Password Manager or Random Password Manager display the following error:
Code:
** Internal warning (EventManager.cpp:104): Condition false: sEventOutputType ("") != CString() (""); returning 0x00000000
** Internal warning (EventSink.cpp:33): Condition false: 0 (0) != m_spEventOutput (0x00000000)
Invalid event sink info in data file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Lieberman\RPM\response.xml'; skipping.
Cause
This error occurs because the working directory contains other XML files that are not for use with the Event Sink system. Enterprise Random Password Manager or Random Password Manager attempts to parse all XML files in the working directory for use with the event sink system. If you set the event sink working directory to be the program installation directory, you will receive the above error because the "response.xml" files used for Linux/Unix password changes is also located in this directory.
Resolution
The error may be safely ignored. However, if you wish to not receive these errors, change the event sink directory to an alternate location - any other location that does not contain other XML files.
For example: create a new directory at the root of drive C and set this to be the event sink working directory.
To do this choose 'Configure Event Sinks' from the 'Settings Menu'. On the 'Event Sink Definitions' dialog, choose 'Event Sink Configuration Files Directory' from the 'Event Sink Settings' menu. Choose the new folder location.
More Information
This behavior was fixed in version 4.80.0. Please upgrade to the latest version.
